LUCAS & LUCAS // Design Studio
The work of Lucas & Lucas shows a clear vision on functionality and a conscious use of material. The design duo is inspired by objects from everyday life. By adjusting, adding and combining, they create new products and finish them with a special eye for detail. In their studio in Tilburg, Marijke Lucas & Sander Lucas design home accessories and interior objects, and work on commissioned projects in the exhibition and graphic design field.

For the Japanese-Chinese retailer MINISO we designed a series of Hand Held Fans with four different colors and summer dessins: Ice cream, Sunny, Storm and Popsicle. The fan is available in MINISO stores in China. The Summer Series Mini Fan was rewarded with a SILVER European Product Design Award in 2019

For the Japanese-Chinese retailer MINISO we designed a series of Night Lights. Three small bed lamps with a different animal sitting on top: a bird, a whale and a rabbit: an animal from the sky, the ocean and the earth.
In a temporary workshop in the museum we produced a variety of hacks. Inspired by the wooded countryside of south Småland, we explored the phenomenon of mutating. The result: a series of objects made with IKEA products, that seem to have a life of their own.

Candle Holder
Plate and bended fork go through life together as a candle holder. Comes with saucer and candle. So you can light your fire at once!
Cup Light
A simple porcelain coffee cup is turned in to a pendant light. Comes with black and white fabric cable and aluminium fittings, or with grey fabric cable and brass fittings.
Pen Spoon
A stirrer that looks like a pen. The shape of each spoon is based on the outline of a famous ballpoint. Comes in a set with four different stirrers.
Mirror Hanger
A mirror with clothes hooks to hang your keys or jewelry. Comes in 3 different sizes: Small (Ø 30 cm), Medium (Ø 50 cm) and Large (Ø 60 cm).
Clamp Table
Objects that surround us in everyday life inspired us to create these two tables. By adjusting existing clamps and adding a beautifully finished oak table top, we designed a side table and a coffee table.
Cup Light Chandelier
Chandelier made of 12 porcelain coffee cups. A matching porcelain saucer serves as a ceiling rose. Comes with black and white fabric cable and aluminium fittings, or with grey fabric cable and brass fittings.

In honor of its 12.5 year anniversary, the Dutch bags and accessories label Keecie asked us to design a special anniversary booklet.

For the publishing house Terra we designed and illustrated this beautiful cookbook full of recipes for grilling and roasting all year round. With recipes by Marjolijn Rosendaal, art direction by Anya van de Wetering, styling of Room 465 and photography by Bella Thewes.

WELL... is a book about the WELL COLLECTION, a family of chairs designed by Kees de Boer, product designer at Ahrend and upholstered in beautiful Kvadrat fabrics.

In honor of the relaunch of the Result Chair and Pyramid Table by HAY and Ahrend, and as a loving tribute to the designers Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld, we designed a special publication about the design heritage of Ahrend and their cooperation with Danish design brand HAY.

LUCAS & LUCAS - Out of the Ordinary
With the installation ‘Out of the Ordinary’ we shared how we find inspiration in the things that surround us in everyday life. By creating a stage for these objects, we revalued them and showed that they support us in everything we do.
